Questions Contractors Ask

Straight answers to the questions NH trade business owners ask most before deciding to work with me.

Before We Work Together

What's the first step?
Request a free GBP audit through the contact page. I'll review your Google Business Profile, your local rankings, and your top two or three competitors. Then we'll schedule a 15-minute call to go through what I found. You'll have a clear picture of what's wrong and what it would take to fix it — whether you work with me or not.
What kinds of businesses do you work with?
Owner-operated trade contractors and service businesses in New Hampshire and New England. Septic, well drilling, excavation, chimney, painting, masonry, HVAC, plumbing, junk removal, flooring, fuel oil — and others. If you're a local service business with a geographic territory and you want more calls from Google, we're likely a fit.
Do you work with businesses outside NH?
Yes. I split time between New Hampshire and Massachusetts and work with trade contractors throughout New England — NH, MA, VT, ME, and occasionally CT and RI. I specialize in NH because I know the market best, but the strategies translate across the region.
How long is the commitment?
Six-month minimum. Local SEO results take time — organic rankings typically start moving at 60–90 days and hit their stride at 4–6 months. The six-month minimum protects your investment and gives the work enough runway to show real results. After six months, we're month-to-month.

What's Included & How It Works

What exactly does the Hybrid Visibility Package include?
Everything Google-facing for your business: a one-time setup covering full GBP optimization, website on-page audit and fixes, Google Ads account and first campaign build, keyword research, and citation cleanup. Then ongoing monthly management: Google Ads optimization, GBP maintenance and posts, review monitoring and responses, on-page SEO updates, and a monthly performance report.
Do I need a website?
Not necessarily, but it helps significantly. Google Business Profile optimization alone can generate calls, and GBP doesn't require a website. That said, a website — even a simple one — adds a ranking signal, gives you a place to land ad traffic, and builds credibility with prospects. If you don't have one, that's worth discussing during the audit call.
Who handles the Google Ads budget?
You do. You set up billing directly inside your own Google Ads account. I link to your account as a manager and handle all the strategy, campaign setup, and ongoing optimization — but every dollar of ad spend goes directly from you to Google. You own the account. You can pause it anytime. I never touch your ad budget.
How much should I budget for Google Ads?
I recommend starting at $300–800/month for most NH trade niches. That's typically enough to generate consistent call volume without burning through budget before you can optimize. We'll calibrate based on your niche, your service area, and how competitive your keywords are.
How often will I hear from you?
You'll receive a monthly performance report covering rankings, calls, ad performance, and next steps. For questions or updates, I'm reachable directly by phone or email. I'm not going to disappear after onboarding — you'll know exactly what's happening with your account every month.

What to Expect

How quickly will I see results?
Google Ads: most clients see calls within the first two weeks. GBP optimization: ranking movement typically starts at 30–60 days. Organic SEO: meaningful movement at 60–90 days, real traction at 4–6 months. These aren't guarantees — local SEO has variables — but they're realistic timelines based on what most clients experience.
Can you guarantee first-page rankings?
No — and anyone who does is lying to you. Google controls the rankings; I control the work. What I can guarantee is that I'll apply every legitimate optimization lever available and be fully transparent about what's working and what isn't. In most NH trade niches, the competition is thin enough that strong rankings are very achievable.
What if I'm not happy with the results?
That conversation starts with the monthly report. If rankings aren't moving, we dig into why and adjust. If the strategy needs to change, we change it. After your six-month commitment, you can cancel with 30 days notice if the results don't justify continuing. My goal is to keep clients because the work is producing, not because they're locked in.

Costs & Fees

What does it cost?
One-time setup fee of $500–750 covering full GBP optimization, audits, Google Ads setup, keyword research, and citation cleanup. Monthly management fee of $500–750/month covering ongoing ads management, GBP maintenance, SEO updates, and reporting. Ad spend is separate — you pay Google directly, typically $300–800/month to start.
Why is there a range and not a fixed price?
The exact fee depends on the scope of your setup — how much work your GBP needs, how competitive your market is, and how many service areas you're targeting. I'll give you a specific number after the audit call, not a range.
Is this worth it for a small contractor?
Run the math: what does your average job pay? For most trade contractors — septic pumping, excavation, chimney work, painting — one new job per month covers the entire management fee. If the ads and SEO drive even two or three new jobs a month, the ROI is substantial. That's the conversation we'll have during the audit call using your actual numbers.
